Galatians 3:28 “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus”.

I observe, the “problem” is heartbreakingly maintained within the church using vocabulary and language that contributes to maintaining the system of racism.

“Ethnic”, “Minorities”, “immigrants” are all constructs to suggest – “not like us”. And destroys the notion that we are one in Christ.

The church has to change its vocabulary so that if we are brothers and sisters – stop referring to me by a label that means nothing in spirit and truth, but means everything for maintaining the “unwritten code” of racism.

My father travelled to London from Grenada as a teenager with British travel documents – Grenada at the time was a British colony. Yet my father was referred to as an immigrant; however a cacuasian also born in Grenada travelling on the same boat to London is not an immigrant.

My father was born in Grenada, speaking English with an accent, wearing English fashion, enjoying British entertainment, following British systems in every area of life. Yet on arrival in London he is referred to as an “ethnic” – because he has an accent? But his Grenadian caucasian counterpart is not ethnic…!!!

My father arrives in London and is considered to be a minority – for the only reason that he has melanin in his skin. No Caucasian Grenadian born in Grenada is referred to as a minority.

So when the church both says we are brothers and sisters…and… uses racist labels… the powers of darkness, relying on our words are encourage.

I pray you will lead this change within your movement.

Be encouraged.
