God gave each of us a personality, what we do with it is our decision. That said, there’s confusion in the church over “conforming to the image of Jesus the Christ”. If you find your personality is changing, perhaps you’re conforming to religious norms rather than Christ…!!
Each human on earth from the beginning to the end of time will be 100% unique; event twins have unique fingerprints and doppelgänger’s are totally different people.
Conforming to Christ has been focused on physical behaviour. Problem… “Christ” is a spiritual construct, so any approach based on physical behaviour is automatically in the wrong zone…
Christ is the anointed one restoring our relationship and position as heirs with God. So conforming to Christ means our lives are achieving the “annointed” purpose. Make sense?
In other words, does our lives (not just our words) help others restore their relationship and heir-ship with God?
Yes…then you are potentially in the conforming zone. No…potentially you’re not.
How do we know the above to be true? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25:38-40)
