To you, does God have a bellowing voice. Does He command and proclaim and declare as a Shakespearean actor? If that’s the impression of God in your mind…You couldn’t be further from the truth.

God is Love and in 1 Corinthians 13 we learn there that  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

If ever you wanted an description of God, there it is. A bellowing voice-free zone…

When praying, pray in love – not in hurt, or with the victim perspective, but knowing that you live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God…that the travails you endure on this earth are but temporary and are there as a reminder of Sin in the world.

Pray in Love, ensure you have the right tone of voice, which is a tone of love. And when you need reminding of what that voice sounds like, read 1 Corinthians 13.
