I know it’s a BIG ask. Choose to see love…in a world where people are not nice, fail to keep their promises, let you down and some even go out of their way to make you life miserable…Yes.
The alternative is rather horrid and what’s worse, it makes you eat away at yourself.
Do you know someone that complains incessantly, is bitter about experiences in life and can never see the good in anything? Ok, is that person a joy to be around?
The problem is with complaining to yourself, is that the only person being affected is you. So the BIG choice is, complain or love?
When you choose to love you are choosing to see the world as God does – through a different lens. No longer from the lens of blame or fault, but from the lens of love; Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 1 Corinthians 13:4-13
