What do you see when you look at Gaudi’s buildings. Do you see stunning architecture with art or do you see idolatry?

The big question is when does art become idolatry?

The answer is both simple and complicated. The simple answer begins with the purpose for making the piece. God commanded – “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. Exodus 20:10

The complicated answer relates to what we choose to bow to or worship. John in his letter writes “Guard yourself from idols”. 1 John 5:31

Let’s break it down. Your purpose for celebrating a piece of work may be genuine, however do you understand the purpose for which the “work” was created?

Now I’m not saying Gaudi’s work are idolatry.

However you may have a different opinion about the next piece of art below. Many people believe this is the actual scene from the spirit realm. I’m not a theologian but I can tell you categorically – it’s not…!!

Remember the warning…guard yourself from idolatry..
