I am secure in Christ is a serious declaration. Recently a religious person was trying to convince me about the benefits of their religion over what they “thought” was my religion. Following their explanation, I shared that I don’t have a religion – that I believe in Jesus the Christ.
This statement shocks people, because we find comfort in placing people in neat profiles – they are X so they should be like this…
My friend spent the next couple of hours trying to wrap her head around what I shared – simply because my view didn’t fit into a neat profile.
“Religions” are distracting many from upholding Christ the Saviour. Instead people are off defending their religion. This life passes through death of the body into an eternal existence – one with God or without God. To experience eternity with God, we are required to acknowledge Jesus the Christ as our Lord and saviour – that’s it.
Jesus said we should come as we are (Matthew 11:28). In the book of Isaiah 55:1 it is written “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price”.
So be secure in Christ, repeat this statement so that you are convinced about your salvation and place in God’s eternal kingdom.
