The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby (Genesis 18:1:2a).
Abraham greets the Lord and offers Him food. Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way—now that you have come to your servant.”“Very well,” they answered, “do as you say” (Genesis 18:5)
Now here’s the interesting bit. He then brought some curds and milk and the calf that had been prepared, and set these before them. While they ate, he stood near them under a tree. (Genesis 18:8)
One of Jesus’s major miracle is feeding people. The Lord our God eats food and enjoys providing it for us and eating it with us.
Why it is important to know God eats food? God desires to be with us in an intimate way. He wants to sit and talk and interact with us and the only way this can be done properly is over food.
Remember when Jesus fed the five thousand; the disciples saw the time and thought the best solution was to send the people home. Jesus has a better idea, let’s eat now…!!
